JLS to Meet and Greet

Lanarkshire venue offers fans the chance to get up close and personal with their idols

Hamilton Park today announced it would offer 12 lucky JLS fans the chance to meet the band when they perform at the venue's first ever standalone concert on Friday 23 July 2010.

Since announcing the concert at the beginning of the year, Hamilton Park has been inundated with requests from fans wanting to meet the band.  As a result, organisers have negotiated a total of 12 'meet and greets' to be fairly distributed by a random prize draw involving everyone who has purchased a ticket in the lead up to the concert.  There will be four pairs of winners selected from general and silver admission and two pairs from those in the hospitality boxes.

Hamilton Park, in association with leading concert producers Liz Hobbs Group Ltd, confirmed chart-toppers JLS as the headline act of its first standalone concert earlier this year and, with a top class support act expected to be announced in the coming weeks, the night is shaping up to be one of the most in demand events of the summer.

JLS performed to a sell-out crowd at one of the race evenings at Hamilton Park in 2009 before going on to release their debut single, Beat Again; which went to number one in the UK singles chart, and sold more than 100,000 copies.  The band then rounded off 2009 with a second number 1 smash hit and two MOBO Awards.  This year also began with a flourish as the boys scooped two Brit Awards and their eponymous debut album reached number 1 after selling over 1million copies.

Vivien Kyles, Chief Executive, said: 'After the spectacular performance by the band last season, JLS were our first choice for our debut standalone concert.  Over the last two years our strategy has been to develop Hamilton Park as a venue and to show our capability of hosting high-profile events on non-racing days.  For a band of this calibre to want to return to perform at Hamilton Park, it's a massive boost for the racecourse and speaks volumes for the quality of entertainment the venue is capable of staging.
